Speed Comes From Structure, Not Shortcuts
Most slow hiring isn't careful hiring — it's waiting. Waiting on feedback, on calendars, on a sixth interview nobody needed. This four-week sprint removes the waiting while keeping every quality gate that matters.
Week 1: Define the scorecard
Before sourcing starts, write down the five outcomes the role must deliver and how you'll test each one. Every interviewer gets the same scorecard. Roles with scorecards fill faster because debriefs take twenty minutes, not two weeks.
Week 2: Source in parallel, screen in batches
Run sourcing channels at once — referrals, network, staffing partner — and review candidates in twice-weekly batches. Batching kills the drip-feed delay where each resume waits days for a look.
- Cap the process at three stages: screen, work session, final conversation.
- Pre-book interviewer calendars for the whole sprint before it starts.
- Give every candidate a decision within 48 hours of each stage.
Week 3: Work sessions, not interrogations
Replace the panel gauntlet with one paid work session on a real problem. You see collaboration, communication and craft in ninety minutes — more signal than four hours of hypotheticals.
Week 4: Decide and close
Reference checks run parallel to the final conversation, and the offer is pre-approved before the last meeting. Great candidates accept fast offers; slow offers restart your search.
